The smell of rotting meat permeated the air; the stench invaded my nostrils harassed my brain. The cobblestone Greenwich Village streets bled red from the corpses as the burly and hairy men in white blood-soaked jumpsuits and boots unpacked the meat trucks with their frozen carcasses.
